XIMIS, Inc. announces a Multi-Disciplinary installation of XIRIS™ at El Paso Community College (EPCC)
in their Health Occupations Program
El Paso, TX, December 18, 2003 – El Paso Community College (EPCC) and
XIMIS, Inc. agree
to go live with
XIRIS 6.0 for multi-disciplinary installation at EPCC to provide students
with state-of-the-art technology, which will better prepare them when they enter the health workforce. EPCC offers an
Associate of Arts degree in the area of Health Occupations, which will prepare students entering into a career path of
Allied Health. Students of this program may also prepare for their bachelor’s degree in Health Occupations/Allied Health.
EPCC currently has 21 health programs with a multi-disciplinary clinic that share information and resources and serve
the staff, faculty and community in their medical needs.
Currently, they do not have an electronic information system to tie it all together and work efficiently.
XIMIS has agreed to design a system that can work with DICOM images through an integrated
PACS and share data throughout the clinical health facility and connect to every lab at EPCC which include: nursing, dental
hygiene and assisting, physical therapy assisting, diagnostic medical stenography, medical lab technologist, dietetic
technology, and Medical lab technology.
"This mutually beneficial agreement marks a great milestone for both EPCC and
XIMIS. EPCC
will now be able to open up a state-of-the-art facility to equip their students and El Paso community at large with the
best possible training including the utilization of today’s technology in providing healthcare at its optimum,” says Souraya
Hajjar, MPH, Health Grants Manager at EPCC. “For
XIMIS, it provides us with an opportunity
to expand our Information Systems to greater number of the healthcare vertical markets that have not been satisfied. We are
able to continue developing our successful technology to provide solutions to a cross-section of the healthcare industry
with a seamless solution. We have always carefully planned and designed
XIRIS so that it
is flexible and can meet the demands of complex organizations. The installation of
XIRIS
at EPCC will prove the success of
XIRIS technology,” states Katitza Gerdau, President of
XIMIS.
Both organizations are excited about this implementation to go live in January of 2004.
