XIMIS, Inc. announces a Multi-Center installation of XIRIS™ at Indiana University Radiology Associates
(IURA) in the Radiology Department located on the campus of Indiana University & Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI).
El Paso, TX, September 5, 2003 – Indiana University Radiology Associates went live with
XIRIS™ 4.0
at their first site in March 2003 and has implemented their second site in July 2003. IURA required a RIS that offered a Multi-Center
backbone as well as flexibility in customization of the system for various functionalities. IURA explored several options when looking
for a RIS capable of handling the various needs of the group. Complex integration and customized technology needs were at the forefront
when searching for a solution. A web-based product capable of scheduling exams, receiving orders for multiple sites and producing
reports on multiple customized letterheads was a requirement. With
XIRIS, IURA now has a
multi-center RIS, which is capable of handling information from a variety of sources and distributing that information to various
entities. The web-based technology is key to providing easy access to reports for referring physicians.
XIMISoffers Indiana University Radiology Associates’ a RIS that meets their needs to support the two centers to share
information in real-time.“
XIRIS was able to provide a solution to our complex environment.
Their knowledge of technology and radiology practice was definitely a plus. Our needs were unique and they developed strategies
to make technology work for us. They were able to assist us with developing work processes uilizing the RIS to make our staff
more productive andefficient,” states Rita McFarland, Director of Medical Imaging, Indiana University Radiology. IU Radiology
also benefits fromthe teaching tool included in
XIRIS for manipulating real data without
distorting it. This is a great advantage for a center like IU Radiology since the nature of the center is a teaching institute
as well as a care facility. The Center also provides Read-Only services for other centers in the area. To date,
XIMIS provides this large volume institution with a stable RIS allowing for increased
efficiencies and productivity.
